Gameplay

The Life Of Duusta is a Strategy RPG inspired by the Fire Emblem series. This game is focused on 1-player PvE (player verses enemy) gameplay, but some side modes allow the player to play 2-player PVP (player verses player). The game is split between battling and exploring the White Dawn base.

During battles, the player commands a group of units, and fights against a group of enemy units controlled by the AI. During the player phase, they will decide how to position their units and what actions they should take. Once all of the player's units move, it switches to the enemy phase. During this, the enemy units will move and attack your units. The battles are cleared when the objective is met. The most common objectives are Rout the enemy (defeat all the enemy's units), Defeat the Boss (defeat the specified enemy), and Sieze (Move onto the specified tile and use the 'Sieze' action). The battle is lost when the player's commander, (usually Duusta) is defeated.

When the player is not battling, they'll be able to explore the White Dawn base. While in the base, the player can do various activities to improve their units' performance. Each day is split between daytime and nightime. Most activities take up one of those, but others take both, and a few even take multiple days. The player can also visit shops to buy items for their party to use. The party has a deadline for completing each mission, so deciding how to use your time is very important.
